Hand Cast Argentium® Sterling Silver Orchid Jewelry
Each piece is formed from an original Orchid flower. The orchid was set in investment and burned out at 1400°F so all parts of the orchid evaporate into carbon dioxide. The resulting cavity is then filled with molten silver at 1800°F by centrifugal casting. Everything that was orchid is now silver. The resulting silver orchid then has findings soldered on, and it is then burnished and heat treated. The entire process takes over 12 hours. Each piece of jewelry is as totally unique as an individual flower.
