My name is Rhonda Willis. I moved to Florida in 1998 and am originally from Savannah, GA.
I am a fused glass artist specializing in dichroic and glass art jewelry.
I started working with glass a few years ago when my husband and I took a stained glass class. After the class, he moved on to other hobbies, and I continued working with stained glass and enjoyed making mosaic stepping stones.
About two years later, I took a glass fusing class in Sarasota and bought a kiln. Before I knew it, my friends were placing orders. I love creating with color and take pride in my work. It's a great feeling when customers compliment on the quality of my creations. I've also had the privilege of making pendants and tie tacks for wedding parties. What an honor.
Every now and then I venture out and try new techniques and create new things. I've dabbled in bowls, tea light holders, night lights, business card holders, vases, pocket wall vases, magnets, purse holders, and garden stones. What's next on my list? I'm thinking clocks, cabinet door knobs, and picture holders.
Even though I do like to venture out, my main focus will always be the dichroic pendants. I love it when customers tell me about all the compliments they receive when wearing one of my creations. It's a great feeling.
